The Tassilo Dellers Jazz Quartet, founded in 2004, plays acoustic modal Jazz. All the same, the Quartet uses binary as well as ternary grooves. The present program (CD "Love", published in April 2008) exists exclusively of selfmade compositions by Tassilo Dellers and shows a vastly built dynamic spectrum: Quiet, melodious passages, from time to time composed in a sense of "chamber music", alternate with energetically powerful improvisations; lyrical, restrained melodies with partly intensive and wild tone sequences. A little more than half of the compositions are based on odd metres (5/4, 6/4 and 6/8), which, however, show a mostly fluent groovy pulse, due to the middle tempi. Live concert excerpt 2008 (YouTube)

Jazz Project, Other Brothers, Dr. Dellers Ambient Groove Ensemble. 1st prize at the "Jazz and Rock Festival Augst" in 1986, prizewinner at the International Young People's Jazz Festival Hoeilart (Belgium) in 1988; further festivals: Jazz Festival Montreux(CH).
